I’m not ready to say goodbye
I can’t just sit and watch you fly away
Fly away
So you say you like freedom’s taste,
But where’s your tongue been that it knows these things
I’ve built you such a pretty prison
All lace and flowers and my dark eyes
There’s still time
There’s still time
Tell me there’s still time
Time
Not so much to ask
Not so much to want
And windows are doors
Little bird, little bird
Who’s got your tongue?
Little bird, little bird
What have you sung?
Little bird, little bird
Who’s got your tongue?
Little bird, little bird
What have you sung?
Little bird, little bird
Little bird
What have you done?
Time
Not so much to ask
Not so much to want
One door closes
Another opens
Some sins are remembered
Others forgotten.

I should love to drink of human milk
Once again
But these things have passed
No such product exists
To succor my thirst
To bring the warmth back to my core
Gravity pulls me apart
The weight grinds my once supple joints
To fine dust
To be extracted
For new chemicals or drugs or gelatin
For desserts
But again
The thirst claims my dry throat
The thick liquid
Rich with fat
Prosperity of life
Inheritance of the bosom
of woman
But these things are no longer
The womb walked away and decayed
And is now rotten
With age
No such paradise awaits
No such paradise awaits
No such paradise awaits
No such paradise awaits

Released as a CD-R single in 2005, FALSE STARTS AND SECOND CHANCES comprises two versions of the songs "Feather Down" and "What Then?" The second versions of each song, recorded in 1998, are demos that constitute the sole completed output of Passion Play, an earlier project by the two members of kittycat lollipop.
"'What Then?' artificially speeds the vocals into an eerie falsetto that
sounds especially out of place over the cheesy Casio slap bass, but
'Feather Down' is by far the most menacing, with its repeated phrase
of 'Little bird, where is your tongue? Little bird, what have you sung?'
just sounding angrier and creepier with each repetition. This isn’t the
cheesy slasher film scariness that makes people scream in crowded
theaters and gets sampled by generic EBM acts, but the legitimately
unsettling stuff that keeps you awake at night. This means not
everyone is going to appreciate it. If you have an appetite for the
authentically weird, however, you owe it to yourself to check out
